Frequently Asked Question

What domain extension should I use?

A domain extension is a suffix that succeeds your domain – like a .com.au, or .com.

There are various top-level domains (TLD) to choose from, with the most popular ones being .com, .net, .info, .biz, and .edu.

An important factor to consider when choosing a domain extension is how it matches your website’s purpose. So, if you’re running a commercial site, for example, you can opt for a .com. If you’re planning to launch a website for your non-profit, go for a .org.

There are also over 200 country code TLDs to choose from. Let’s say you are a business operating in Australia, you’d want to consider getting a .au domain extension to tell clients that you operate locally.

How long does it take to register a domain?

For most cases, you should be able to use your domain within 24 hours after registration. You’ll receive a confirmation email from us if your registration is successful. From here, update your DNS settings for your website and emails to work.

If you encounter an error with the registration, we’ll email you the details of the issue and how to resolve it.

It’s important to note that some domains take longer to process. A separate entity – known as a domain name registry (or simply “registry”) – manages domains. So, each registry imposes different sets of requirements. Of course, our team will make sure to update you registration status regularly.

How long can I register a domain name?

You can register a domain for a term mandated by its respective registry. The options on how long you can use the domain name will show before checkout.

Global Domain Extension (also called gTLD) will let you register a minimum term of 1 year and a maximum of 10 years. Country Code Domain Extensions (also called ccTLD) have varying terms set by its registries. You may check the domain terms and conditions for more details.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept a variety of payment methods:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Expres
  • PayPal

Due to our low prices, we don’t support direct deposits or bank transfers. But for bulk orders amounting to AUD $1000 or more, please contact our support team via email or phone.

Additional payment options for selected countries are also available at the bottom of the checkout page.

What is Web Hosting?

The internet is a web of servers and computers that communicate through Domain Name Systems (DNS). Web Browsers retrieve the website files by entering a domain name. A domain name serves as a web address. The space in a server located in multiple datacentres – of providers – globally is web hosting. Web Hosting is where the website files, programming codes, databases, and more are stored.

Yes, website files can be stored or hosted on a home computer but, it cannot provide availability and uptime a server can provide to service a website 24/7. For your website to work round-the-clock, you need a Web Hosting for it.

Choosing a reliable web hosting provider for your business is integral in boosting your brand and online presence.

What to consider when choosing a Web Host?

Looking for a Web Hosting provider requires research. It is best to note its performance and reliability.

You need to have web hosting that distributes memory and resources to maintain services online.

Looking for a website hosting provider that uses cloud computing can be advantageous. Cloud computing is the use of remote servers in a network within the internet to store, manage and process data.

This ensures that server failures do not result in the services getting offline. Look for a web host that uses Solid State Drive (SSD) memory in their server. Unlike the older version called Hard Disk Drive (HDD), SSD magnetically stores data.

This technology helps in retrieving files up to 300% faster than HDD.  When the memory loads quickly, the website works swiftly and smoothly.

Will you back up my website?

Our system keeps a backup of your website for internal reasons but creating your own backup is highly encouraged. You can create your backup either weekly or daily, depending on your preference. Doing this will give you the security of an updated backup because we cannot guarantee that our system backup will be the most recent.

Automate your backups if you cannot do it manually.

Can I get my money back?

Yes. You can cancel and get your money back within 60 days. You don't have to pay for something that was not used and won't be of use. The credit will show in your account should you use this guarantee.

However, the guarantee will only cover our services, not the domains. Domain names are purchased directly from the registries. Meaning, once a domain name gets registered after purchase, cancellation is no longer possible from the registries’ end. They also do not give refunds for registered domains.

You can contact us if you need further clarification.

Does Web Host location matter?

Yes. Look for a Web Host where the datacentre is close to your location. The physical distance of the server still affects the speed of data transmission. Even when electronic communications are instant, and the difference is a fraction of a second, you need to take every advantage that you can.

What is email hosting?

Email hosting is a service that lets you send, store, and receive emails through a custom email address that matches your domain.

Unlike a free email hosting service like Gmail, Email Hosting provides end-to-end encryption to your emails and gives you more control over your data. On top of that, it offers more features like spam and virus protection, extra storage space, standard backups, etc.

Why should I get a custom email for my business?
While free email addresses do the job, they lack the security and professionalism your business needs. Having a custom email address helps businesses establish a professional brand image and a reliable online reputation. Customers are more likely to transact with email addresses with the business’s company name.
What are the benefits of Email Hosting?

Makes your business look more professional

With Email Hosting, you can set up a professional email address to use for your business communications. For example, if your site is “xyz.com”, then your email address will be yourname@xyz.com.

Provides secure communication

Email Hosting provides encrypted email messaging, which prevents third parties from reading and intercepting your emails. This also adds another layer of security to customer information against data breaches.

Offers plenty of storage space

If you’re nearing the storage limit, easily upgrade to a higher plan to add more space. You don’t have to worry about losing important work files and client messages in your inbox.

Filters spam and viruses

Email Hosting comes with spam and virus filtering features, blocking malicious emails from reaching your inbox. It also includes Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) protection, so you don't experience any issues with fake data traffic or unresponsive server.

Delivers 24/7 support

Resolve issues as soon as possible with our round-the-clock technical support team. You can reach the service team via phone, email, and live chat to provide you with 24/7 support.

Why should I get a Domain and Hosting package?

Getting a Domain and Hosting package gives you everything you need to build and launch an online presence while saving a great deal of money.

For example, when you buy a .site domain name with Startup, you can enjoy up to 53% off. (The .site domain starts at $44.50 when purchased separately. But in the Startup plan, the domain only costs $20.99.)

While you can purchase each solution separately, getting the package is more cost-efficient. Plus, it lets you know the must-have solutions you need to get online right off the bat.

Does the package include Domain Privacy?

Yes, all plan tiers come with Domain Privacy. This privacy protection service protects your domain against unwanted spam and malicious hackers.

What is an SSL certificate?

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a cybersecurity protocol responsible for creating a secure connection between a web server and a browser. It uses a combination of public-key and private-key encryption to protect personal information (e.g., credit card numbers, login credentials, email addresses, etc.) users provide on a website.

To establish a secure connection, an SSL certificate is installed on a web server. It is a digital certificate that authenticates a server’s identity and domain ownership and encrypts any information provided through the website.

An SSL certificate is an indication that the connection to a server is guaranteed safe.

How will users know if a website has an SSL certificate?

The easiest way to know if a website holds an SSL certificate is to visit the website and check the address bar in the browser. A padlock icon to the left of the URL and an HTTPS address (instead of HTTP) indicate that a website has an SSL certificate. This means users can safely provide sensitive information through the website as it is transferred over a secure network.

Clicking on the lock icon will provide more information about the domain owner and its SSL certificate.

Why does my website need an SSL certificate?

Keeps user data secure

The primary purpose of an SSL certificate is to encrypt — or convert into a cipher or code — sensitive information sent over the Internet so that only the intended receiver can access it. This is especially important if your website requires users to sign in, fill out a form, or access personal accounts.

Having SSL encryption keeps private information from being stolen or tampered with by hackers and identity thieves.

Verifies domain authenticity

To get an SSL certificate, you must go through a validation process conducted by the Certificate Authority (CA). CA verifies the authenticity of your website, domain, and business. Once you’ve proven your authenticity, CA will issue the digital certificate for your website. This certificate enables you to prove to users that your website is authentic, not a fake website created by a hacker.

Boosts SEO ranking

Google values user experience, preferring to take users to safe websites with HTTPS. Because of this, websites with an SSL certificate rank higher in the search engine results pages (SERPs) than other unsecure websites. If your website is secure, you’ll more likely to appear in relevant customer searches and earn a higher position in the SERPs.

Gains user trust

An SSL certificate comes with a padlock icon and HTTPS. These are visual indications for users that your website is secure. This increases their confidence and trust in your business. And this trust can translate into other business benefits.

What happens if I don't have an SSL certificate?

Your website will still function even if it doesn’t have an SSL certificate, but it will be susceptible to many types of cybercrime. Plus, search engines will warn users your website isn’t secure, discouraging traffic and conversions for your business.
